Of the 21 Brutals, Enigma is easily the most enigmatic. He is everywhere yet only reveals himself when he wishes. He appears as a giant specter in the image of his Riddlers - the strange hermits that seem to be his devoted heralds - and wields devastating spells.
Finding Enigma[ | ]
As you can see on the right, finding this Brutal is not as straightforward as the rest of the wild Brutals. Here's how it works:
- This wild Brutal must be unlocked by finding every last one of the five riddlers and successfully answering their question about a detail of the game. See the question marks on the map for their location. See the relevant side quests for the correct answer.
- Once the "Completed" tab of your quest menu contains five "Solve The Riddle" entries, you can speak to the Riddle Master in the east of Easthaven, just under the N in Easthaven, and he will offer you a talisman.
- From that point on, Enigma may appear anywhere where there could be a random fight: he will not appear in a place where you can craft potions. Just like other Wild Brutals, you can stack Daemon Call and a Brutal boost from a Farseer barrel to speed things up.
Note that you can always talk with the Riddle Master again to get rid of the talisman (as long as the 5 riddle quests have been done, see Rebirth) or to get it back. This essentially acts like a toggle, but there is little point in disabling Enigma as you always get a 100% chance to flee from wild brutals, including Enigma.

Rewards[ | ]
In addition to the normal rewards of a fight (gold and experience), Enigma drops his Cape which increases Instinct Abilities, boosts item drops and Focus Regeneration. It also offers the most armor out of all the other Brutals, except those of the God Brutals.
